Moana 2 is almost here, and here is every cast member and character who will return or debut in the film. 2016's Moana brought to life an entirely new class of iconic Disney characters, including the likes of Moana and Maui. While the duo is returning, they will be aided by an all-new cast of characters, and here is everything we know about Moana 2's cast so far.

Moana will be leaving the island of Motunui once again, with her being summoned on a grand journey by the spirit of her ancestors. Alongisde Maui, Moana is set to form a wayfinding team to venture off and save another mysterious island. Moana 2 is one of the most exciting movies of 2024, and here's every member of the newest Disney cast.

Auliʻi Cravalho As Moana

Born November 22, 2000

• Active Since: 2015

Actor: Auli'i Cravalho was born on November 22, 2000, in Kohala, Hawaii, and had her big break in her acting debut as the voice of the titular protagonist in 2016'sMoana. Alongside returning to reprise her role in Moana 2, Cravalho has also gone on to score roles in major movies and TV shows like 2024's Mean Girls, Hailey's On It!, and Krapopolis.

Notable Movies/TV Shows

Character: Returning as the protagonist from the original Moana, Moana is the daughter of the chief of Motunui. Despite her position, she wanted nothing more than to leave the island, with her doing so and going on a magical journey with Maui. After returning home, Moana 2 will see Moana get a call from her wayfinding ancestors, with her, Maui, and their wayfinding team leaving the island and setting off on a journey to break Nalo's curse and face off against a variety of new and returning threats.

Dwayne Johnson As Maui

Born May 2, 1972

Actor: Dwayne Johnson was born on May 2, 1972, in Hayward, California and had his big break as a professional wrestler. After gaining acclaim for wrestling as The Rock, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson jumped into the world of acting in the 2001 movie The Mummy Returns. He then became well-known as an actor in family films like The Game Plan, Tooth Fairy, and the Jumanji series, action movies like San Andreas, Rampage, and Skyscraper, and major franchise movies like Furious 7, The Scorpion King and Black Adam.

Character:Moana 2 will see Maui return as the secondary protagonist once again, with him setting off alongside Moana on their new adventure. Maui is a demigod that has the power to shapeshift into any animal that he wishes, with his grand tales and adventures being tattooed on his body. After helping Moana through her first journey, Maui's demigod powers will most likely make him an indispensable member of her new crew, with him helping to fight against Nalo and the film's other villains.

Temuera Morrison As Tui

Born December 26, 1960

• Active Since: 1972

Actor: Temuera Morrison was born on December 26, 1960, in Rotorua, New Zealand and had his big break acting in the New Zealand soap opera Shortland Street. Morrison then made the jump to movies, with him giving a critically acclaimed performance in the 1994 movie Once Were Warriors. Since then, Morrison has gone on to star in tons of other major franchises, like Star Wars, Moana, and Aquaman.

Notable Movies/TV Shows

Character: Tui is the chief of Motunui Island and the father of Moana, with him returning after making his debut in the original film. Tui originally was wholly against Moana leaving the island, with him helping to cover up the wayfinding origins of their ancestors. However, seeing Moana return from her first adventure made Tui soften on the idea. Tui's role in Moana 2 hasn't yet been revealed, although he will most likely act as a protector of the people of Motunui once again.

Rachel House As Tala

Born On October 20, 1971

Actor: Rachel House was born on October 20, 1971, in Auckland, New Zealand and had her big break in 2002's Whale Rider. House has gone on to be a frequent collaborator of filmmaker Taika Waititi, with her appearing in projects like Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Thor: Ragnarok, Our Flag Means Death, Time Bandits, and more.

Notable Movies/TV Shows

Character: Tala is the mother of Tui and the grandmother of Moana, with her being one of the only people to encourage Moana's curiosity about leaving the island in the original film. Sadly, Tala died in the original Moana. However, she returned to continue guiding Moana as a spirit, with her being able to take the form of a manta ray. Tala will return in her spirit form in Moana 2, with her most likely helping to guide Moana once again.

Awhimai Fraser As Matangi

• Active Since: 2012

Actor: Awhimai Fraser is a New Zealand actor who is most known for voicing characters like Elsa and Dolores in the Māori dubs of Disney movies like Frozen and Encanto. However, she will be playing the secondary antagonist in the original version of Moana 2 while also reprising her role in the Māori dub.

Character:Matangi is a new character in Moana 2, with her not appearing in the original film. Matangi is a mysterious and powerful goddess of the underworld, with her acting as the secondary antagonist of Moana 2 after Nalo. Is isn't yet known how Matangi's story will connect to the arc of Moana 2, although she will undoubtedly encounter Moana's team in an antagonistic way at some point in the film.

Moana 2 Supporting Cast & Characters

Alan Tudyk as Heihei: Returning from Moana, Heihei is Moana's pet rooster. Tudyk's other credits include Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Harley Quinn.

Nicole Scherzinger as Sina: Returning from Moana, Sina is the mother of Moana. Scherzinger's other credits include Rent and Cats.

Khaleesi Lambert-Tsuda as Simea: A new character, Simea is the little sister of Moana. Lambert-Tsuda is making her acting debut in Moana 2.

Rose Matafeo as Loto: A new character, Loto is one of the members of Moana's wayfinding team. Matafeo's other credits include Golden Boy and Baby Done.

David Fane as Kele: A new character, Kele is a farmer who is also a member of Moana's wayfinding team. Fane's other credits include Our Flag Means Death and Next Goal Wins.

Hualālai Chung as Moni: A new character, Moni is another member of Moana's wayfinding team. Chung's other credits include Sesame Street and NCIS: Hawai'i

Gerald Ramsey as Tautai Vasa: A new character, Tautai Vasa is one of Moana's ancestors. Ramsey is making his film debut in Moana 2.
